What are the key factors to consider when choosing a pipette tip?

1. Compatibility (Primary Requirement) It must be perfectly matched with the brand and range specification of the pipette, with the same taper and interface size. Poor compatibility will result in air leakage, inability to draw liquid, and poor sealing. Even the highest-quality pipette tips will be ineffective. There are three types: universal, brand-specific, and adjustable-range fixed-range. 2. Precision and Consistency The dimensions, taper, and pipe mouth flatness should be uniform across batches, without deformation or burrs; the inner wall should be uniformly formed to ensure small pipetting errors and good repeatability of parallel samples. Especially for micro 0.5–20 μL experiments, the precision requirement is extremely high. 3. Material and Inner Wall Processing Priority is given to high-purity virgin polypropylene, without recycled materials; the inner wall is ultra-smooth and has extremely low adsorption, reducing protein and nucleic acid adhesion residue. For enzyme inhibition, fluorescence quantitative, and protein experiments, it is essential to select low-adhesion pipette tips. |
