How to correctly select and use the pipette tips?

1. Select the specification based on the pipette range Different pipette ranges must correspond to matching pipette tips. They cannot be mixed; otherwise, there will be liquid leakage and inaccurate pipetting. Common specifications: 10μL, 20μL, 50μL, 100μL, 200μL, 300μL, 1000μL, 5mL, 10mL, etc. The volume of the liquid to be pipetted should fall within the optimal range of the pipette tip to avoid excessive error caused by using a larger tip for a smaller volume. Select materials and cleanliness according to experimental requirements For routine experiments, use polypropylene (PP) pipettes with good chemical stability and high temperature and pressure resistance; for molecular biology, PCR, and nucleic acid testing, choose sterile and enzyme-free pipettes, clearly marked as free of DNase, RNase, and endotoxins; for trace analysis and heavy metal detection, select low adsorption pipettes to reduce sample sticking loss; for organic reagent or strong acid and strong base experiments, choose special pipettes resistant to chemical corrosion. |
