Does the filter core suction head have low adsorption capacity?

Filter cartridge adapter: Low adsorption is the core design feature

The filter cartridge adapter is a specialized consumable for laboratory pipetting operations. Low adsorption is its core design advantage and a key feature that distinguishes it from ordinary pipettes. It is mainly developed for easily adsorptive biological samples/ reagents such as nucleic acids, proteins, peptides, and small molecules, and can significantly reduce the residue of samples on the inner wall of the pipette, improving the accuracy and recovery rate of pipetting. It is particularly suitable for micro-pipetting (μL level) and precious sample operations.

The realization of low adsorption mainly relies on two design points:

Material / Surface Modification: Mainly uses high-purity polypropylene (PP) as the base material. Some high-end models will have a surface hydrophilic coating / silification treatment to eliminate static electricity and hydrophobic adsorption sites on the inner wall of the pipette, allowing the liquid to flow more smoothly and reducing sticking;

Filter Cores Synergistic Optimization: The filter cores inside the pipette are inert materials (such as polyethylene PE), without adsorption properties, and the filter cores are closely adhered to the inner wall of the pipette without any dead corners residue. At the same time, it avoids cross-contamination during pipetting and balances the dual requirements of low adsorption and anti-contamination. In simple terms, the regular filter cartridge pipette tips all have low adsorption properties. The residual adsorption amount is much lower than that of ordinary non-filter pipette tips. They are the preferred consumables for molecular biology, biochemical experiments, and precise pipetting.
