Do you really know how to use a pipette?

1. Range adjustment: Rotate the knob on the upper part of the pipette with your thumb and index finger. When adjusting from a large volume to a small volume, rotate the knob counterclockwise. When adjusting from a small volume to a large volume, first rotate the scale knob clockwise to a scale beyond the range, then adjust it back to the set volume. Avoid turning the button out of the range.

2. Assembly of the pipette tip: Insert the pipette vertically into the tip and gently rotate it left and right with a little force to ensure a tight fit. If it is a multi-channel pipette, align the first channel with the first pipette tip, then insert it at an Angle and shake it forward and backward to secure it. The sign of the gun tip being clamped is that it slightly exceeds the O-ring, and a clear sealing ring can be seen at the connection part.

3. Pipette grip posture: Hold the upper part of the pipette with your four fingers together and press the button at the top of the plunger rod with your thumb. When pipetting, keep the pipette vertical, insert the pipette tip 2-3 millimeters below the liquid surface, slowly release the button to draw up the liquid, and hold for 1-2 seconds. Then slide the pipette tip out of the container along the wall.

4. Forward pipetting method: Press the button with your thumb to the first stop point, then slowly release the button to return to the original position. Then press the button to the first stop point to discharge the liquid, pause for a moment, and press the button again to the second stop point to blow out the remaining liquid. Finally, release the button.

5. Reverse pipetting method: First press the button to the second stop point, then slowly release the button to the origin. Then press the button to the first stop point to discharge the liquid with the set volume range. Keep holding the button at the first stop point and remove the pipette tip with residual liquid and discard it. This method is generally used for transferring highly viscous liquids, bioactive liquids, easily foaming liquids or extremely trace amounts of liquids.

6. Pipette placement: After use, hang it vertically on the pipette stand. When there is liquid in the pipette tip, do not place the pipette horizontally or upside down to prevent the liquid from flowing back and corroding the piston spring.
